Winterize Your Kids Playhouse Now For More Fun In The Future

[ad_1]

Most people take for granted how important it is to weatherize the kids playhouse because they do not view it as another "house", but as just a play structure. In order to provide your child with long-term usage, you will need to take the same steps for protecting it from the harsh winter weather that you take in your own home.

Here's what you can do to keep the children's playhouse in tip-top shape through the wintery season:

Put plastic on the interior windows. There are some window films that can meld to the window to act as a barrier for the cold by heating it with a blow dryer. These are great for this type of exterior space.

Fill all holes and gaps with caulk or foam to keep out drafts. This will also help to keep out pests that may be looking for a place to keep warm during the cold weather also.

Provide your child with draft dodgers for use by the doors when he or she is inside of the kids play house. This will keep the cold from blowing in underneath the door. You can either buy a draft dodger at a home or discount retailer or make your own. This could be a really cool activity to do with your child.

Family's Your ] kids playhouse can be preserved for a lifetime of play. You just need to take the proper steps to keep it safe from the harsh elements that come with winter. Weatherizing today will ensure that your child and his or her friends continue to have a place for fun all year long!

Korean War: Victory or Defeat?

[ad_1]

On paper and in history, the Korean War was seen as neither a victory or a defeat. A cease fire and peace treaty was written between them instead. The battles went on for 3 long years. On July 27, 1953 the two sides signed an armistice and a new border was established on a few miles from the original 1950 border. In my opinion the Korean conflict / war was a success in ways other than the original goals set by the United States.

The war ended in a draw. Both sides agreed to a cease fire and signed an armistice. The Korean War did not end in a total victory for the United States or anyone else. Instead, both sides settled for an uneasy peace that still exists to this day at the time of the writing of this article 12-24-15.

Did the United States experience their first defeat? The answer to that question may be more in the minds of people who study what actually happened and what is happening today. The way I see it, the end result has been a victory when you compare what is happening today in South Korea to what was happening before the attack, before one of the bloodiest wars our world ever saw, and in comparison to North Korea today.

Why did the United States enter this war? Many people felt and might even still feel today that the United States did not belong there. I have heard this myself even in this year of 2015. People grumble saying, "we did not belong in Korea."

I strongly disagree. My own father was one who fought in Korea from 1950 to 1953. He was just a young boy age 16 entering the military at Fort Knox, Kentucky Army base for a military career. He got sent directly into a violent and horrific bloody conflict during some of the roughest weather anyone could ever imagine. He spent much of his time there in battles in tanks. Short recreation breaks were spent in Japan.

One of his greatest memories of course was the time he was wounded trying to save another fellow soldier and did save him. He would say over and over again as if elated: "they covered me up for dead, but I was still alive."

This was a technique done by his fellow soldiers by moving the tank over his wounded body to hide him from the enemy as he was then pulled up into the tank to wait for the MASH units.

He was taken to a hospital in Japan where they placed a steel plate in his chest that he had no idea even existed until he found out he had lung cancer later in life at age 56. He died of lung cancer.

The specialists said "we want to know more about this steel plate we found on x-ray in your chest." Dad did not even know he had a steel plate. It had to have been placed there while in the Korean War at the hospital in Japan. He received a chest wound. Just think of that, and I do very often now, only 16 years old laying now under an Army tank, not knowing if he would survive or not.

I still strongly disagree. Dad came out of it alive, was wounded once, received a purple heart for his bravery and was one of those who returned to the United States, got a job and tried to "forget" he was ever there, but never did forget it. He watched every war movie he could find and never missed an episode of "The Big Picture."

I was born in 1956 and I remember much of his early life after that war. He would wake up in the middle of the night "reciting orders" over and over again, sometimes screaming and crying. He suffered from the memories of that war, but never once said he was sorry he went. He said the worst part of it all to him was to see the suffering little children. Many of the fatalities of that war were innocent civilians.

Why was the United States in Korea 1950 to 1953?

The United States responded to South Korea's defense after North Korea invaded. The original goals were to restore the international border along the 38th Parallel and to eject North Korean forces from South Korea territories. Everyone actually thought the conflict was over until the Chinese entered into the picture.

United States leaders also wanted to show North Korea that this kind of aggression would not be tolerated. To this day, year of 2015, North Korea still shows hostility toward South Korea. There has been no more conflict equal to what was in the 1950's. For this reason among other reasons, I think the decision to enter the conflict ended in more of a victory than a defeat. It seems evident to me that all who entered that conflict in opposition of communism did put a lid on the horrific aggression toward innocent people.

Additional reasons I see this as being a victory for the United States:

When you compare the economy of North Korea to the economy of South Korea today we find the war allowed for a rebirth of South Korea. Since the end of the 1950's conflict / war and cessation of extreme hostilities South Korea has grown into a vibrant and powerful republic.

People all over the world now benefit from South Korea's economic success. The capital of South Korea, Seoul, has become an international center of commerce and industry. Today, South Koreans enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the world.

None of the above would have happened had the communists been successful in their invasion of the South.

By contrast, North Korea is one of the best examples of communism's failure. The United Nations reports that the North Korean economy is ranked much lower than South Korea in the world. North Koreans suffer much more from starvation and malnutrition.

Meanwhile, the South Koreans are thriving. Businesses like Daewoo, Hyundai, LG, Samsung, Kia Automotives are some of the largest business conglomerates in the world and have become household names in US family rooms, garages and offices.

Everyday, I see more and more Kia automobiles on the roads. I have considered purchasing a Kia Soul automobile now for years and probably will eventually buy one if I need another vehicle. My old chevy still runs! But when I have need of a new automobile, I am always looking toward the Kia as purchasing one. At first, I had no idea, Kia was actually based out South Korea.

Without the United States and these other nations who joined in to fight against the communist aggression in the 1950's, none of the things for South Korea would be in existence today. We today would not be enjoying the economic growth in South Korea. It is a good thing also the President stopped the atomic bombing efforts as well, as it would have taken over 100 years for any kind of civilization to be in that area again.

As recorded in our history, there were mistakes made as there are in any kind of war, many innocent people were killed, but the positive outcomes of this war still tells me it was definitely a victory, not a defeat, for the United States in terms of "long term events."

The Influences of Italian Cooking

[ad_1]

When people think of Italian cooking, most think about pasta and pizza pies. However, there are so many more dishes and influences that inspire those dishes. The history of the Italian people, as well as Italy's geographical location, both contribute to the types of food. Italian culture is shown through its cuisine.

There are about 20 regions in Italy and different types of food can be found in each one. Long ago it was difficult for Italians to travel to other regions within Italy. This resulted in distinct styles and ways to prepare food in each region as few people were exposed to other types of cooking. So even though Italy does not seem to be a very large nation geographically, it still has a wide range of flavor.

Northern and southern Italy are very different in climate. The south has very warm weather while in the north the weather is cold. Dry pasta, like spaghetti and rigatoni, is found more in the southern areas because it is easier to dry in warm weather. Since it was more difficult to prepare dry pasta in the north, pastas like tajarin, pappardelle, and tagliatelle were more popular. Other types of pasta popular in the north were stuffed pastas like ravioli.

The climate also affected the types of food and plants that could grow in Italy. Some plants, like olive oil, grew better in warm weather, so in southern Italy olive oil was used a lot. Olive trees did not grow well in the northern areas where it was cold. Butter and lard were used in place of olive oil.

Tomatoes are another kind of plant that grows better in warm climate. In southern Italy cooking tomatoes are used heavily along with red sauces. Broccoli raab and eggplants are two other types of plants that grow well in warmer weather. Vegetables that thrive in colder climates like in the northern areas are black leaf kale, radicchio, cardoons, and cabbage.

Along with climate, economy plays a role in Italian cooking. Another staple in Italy older than pasta and pizza is polenta. It is commonly used today, but long ago it was popular among the poor in Italy. Polenta was easy to make and prepare in Italy.

The countries that border Italy like France and Austria also has an influence over Italian cuisine. Other foreign influences include Spain, England, and Arabic countries. These countries occupied specific areas of Italy throughout history.

With all the different kinds of Italian food it is important in the Italian culture to savor and enjoy the different tastes. Meals are an important way for Italian families to bond by sitting down to a ten course meal that could last around three hours. Since getting the tastes is important and because there are so many courses, the size of each plate is much smaller.

The Importance of Shoes

[ad_1]

Shoes have become an important part of our everyday lives. Shoes were originally designed to protect our feet from cold weather, sharp objects, and uncomfortable surfaces. The early version of the shoe is thought to be a sandal of some form. As man's knowledge of tools and the working of leather grew, so did the sophistication and quality of the average shoe. Shoes are shaped by the physical and economic environment of their surroundings. For example, the ancient Egyptians wore flip-flops woven from straw while the Dutch wore shoes carved from wood to protect their feet from damp marshy land they worked in.

With the passing of time shoes have become an integral part of daily lives. Shoes have passed on from being an item of luxury to an item of necessity. Fashion also played a role in the evolution of the shoe. The human psyche craves for an individual and unique identity. The nobility and upper classes saw shoes as an opportunity to fulfill this desire. The shoes got more and more extravagant. Cloth, velvet and tapestries began to be used. This was the birth of the shoe industry as we know it today. Today shoes are classified according to their use. They are casual and dress, work, sport and corrective.

All shoes fall in the casual category due to their characteristics. The differentiating factor is the purpose of the shoe. Casual shoes are designed and intended to convey an attitude of relaxation and informality. Casual shoe design has evolved with the passing time. Today's casual shoes resemble formal dress shoes in many aspects. The distinguishing factor is the color of the shoe. Casual shoes range from flip-flops to sneakers and boots. The materials used in the manufacture range from leather, canvas and rubber to the modern petrochemical derivatives like plastics and xylenes.

Formal dress shoes are of two varieties – laced and lace less. Traditionally they are made from leather and tended to be expensive. The use of plastics and modern manufacture methods has brought down prices. The upper classes still prefer leather over what they consider cheap plastic. Women's dress shoes may be a variant of pumps or sandals. The style of clothing decides the category of the shoe in case of women. Unisex shoes are a new product in the shoe market.

Sport shoes are specialized shoes designed and created to enable better performance in a particular sporting activity. Sport or athletic footwear is used in a number of sports like football, basketball, cricket, and track and field events. Climbing shoes are also a specialized type to footwear unsuitable to any other sport and even to walking due to its design. It is usually donned at the base of a climb. Basketball and tennis shoes have rubber soles to enable better grip on their respective courts. Sports like football, soccer, baseball and hockey use shoes with metal spikes on the under sole to give better grip for quick starts and stops. Hiking boots or trail boots are designed to support the ankle to prevent injury and to give good grip on rocky surfaces.

Chaps, History and Types

[ad_1]

Chaps (pronounced "shaps" and short for chaparajos) were originated as a protective garment worn by cowboys in brushy areas. There are many reasons for the use of chaps from decorative to practical. This study will include the origin as well as the practical uses of chaps.

Chaps originated in Spain and Mexico. The first known use of them was for riders to wear when working cattle. They were two large pieces of cowhide that were used to form a protective shield over both the riders legs as well as the horse's chest. Hooking onto the saddles horn, they served both purposes well, but were bulky and hard to work with; therefore chaps were conceived.

Batwings – Originally the most prevalent type of chaps were batwings. These chaps were mostly just an outer layer of leather, usually with three clasps to hold them on the leg. One clasp was near the top of the leg, one behind the knee and one around mid calf.

You will see batwings in most early westerns and western art. Frederick Remington and Charles Russell probably never heard of shotgun chaps which are more common today. Batwing chaps could keep a cowboy's legs safe from brambles and brush, but they were not a lot of help keeping the legs warm in cold weather.

Batwings mostly gave way to shotgun chaps in the mid 20th century; however batwings are still popular today among rodeo cowboys for the decorative value as well as the fact that they flop around so much during a ride that they can help show good spurring traits.

Shotgun – Shotgun chaps tend to be more fitted to the individual than batwings. They are formed from leather, usually with a zipper to zip up and encase each leg, as if in armor. Shotguns can be used to keep warm in cold weather as well as protection from thorns and brush.

Both kinds of chaps are also useful in a branding corral protecting against all kinds of dangers such as vaccination needles and hot branding irons.

Chinks (short for chinkaderos) – Chinks came along in the latter part of the 20th century and have grown quite popular, although there are still pockets of holdouts here and there. Chinks have been called "cowboy shorts" by some individuals who do not want to change, but they are quite practical for the working cowboy.

Usually made in a similar fashion to shotguns, chinks are simply cut off around knee to mid-calf level, and have fringe around the outer edge. Much more comfortable in warm weather, chinks, like batwings and shotguns, serve a purpose in the cowboy life style. Since most cowboys wear boots that come up near the knee, chinks protect the area above the boot.

Chaps are also useful for other reasons. Leather chaps stick to a leather saddle or a bareback horse better than do fabric trousers and help the rider stay in the saddle.

Rainbow Sandals

[ad_1]

Jay Longley of Laguna Beach, California started the Rainbow Sandals business in 1974 when he began making discount Rainbow Sandals out of his home. Initially, he made them out of leather and rubber with his target clientele being surfers on the west coast. In 1974, he made approximately 15 pairs of Rainbow Sandals out of his home. Today after 31 years in the 'flip flop' business, Mr. Longley's company is estimated to sell approximately 5,000 pairs daily and is estimated to be worth 31 million dollars. This is quite a long departure from 1974 when he could only make another pair of Rainbow Sandals after selling the previous pair.

Now Rainbow Sandals are offered in a variety of styles with hemp straps as well as many different colors in rich earth tones. There are also sandals with Swarovski crystals (offered in eight beautiful colors), a wide wedge sole (which can also be purchased with a rainbow colored footbed) and an expanded children's line which includes all the adult styles and colors. Rainbow Sandals are considered a high-end flip flop due to the fact that they are made out of leather and high quality materials which ensures a long life for the shoe.

Because this popular sandal is made with a built-in arch support (which is hand sewn and triple glued), when worn or "broken in" the soles will mold to the foot. They are sewn with 2,000 pound test nylon ensuring durability. Because Jay Longley originally designed these flip flops for surfers, it is recommended to wear the sandals while they are wet because this helps the leather mold to the foot.

Some unique characteristics of the Rainbow Sandal is that they are made with parachute stitching and constructed with a non-skid sponge rubber sole which makes them fit the foot like a glove within just a few weeks of wear. Another unique feature of Rainbow Sandals is that the company guarantees its craftsmanship for the life of the sole of the flip flop.

The Rainbow Sandal Company also offers a variety of t-shirts, socks, hats, wallets and key chains all made with the same sturdy workmanship that has made its shoe line popular.

Rainbow Sandals products can be purchased for prices ranging from $ 42.00 to $ 120.00. These prices are quite reasonable when considering the high quality and long life.

Even though the Rainbow Sandal Company has expanded their production line to include loafers, a moccasin type shoe, boots and clothing, the Rainbow SANDAL is still one of the most popular summer shoes in the country. You can see sandal lovers of all ages wearing Rainbow Sandals when warm weather approaches. Today, even though there are just two Rainbow Sandals stores in the United States, you can purchase discount Rainbow Sandals through thousands of shoe outlets.

One thing is a fact, folks of all ages and demographics purchase the Rainbow Sandal because of its durability and style when it's time to shed winter clothes and play in the sun.

Online Backup or Backup Disaster Recovery Solutions, What's Best for You?

[ad_1]

We will not state the obvious, but we all know the importance of backup. If any business is not meticulously backing up their data, they are making a tremendous mistake. Having your data compromised, lost or corrupt will create chaos in your environment and could cost your business thousand of dollars. What business owners do not realize is that having your employee seating around while your IT is recovering your data, or server, also costs money.

Think about it, if you pay your $ employee 10 an hour, and they work 8 hours a day, you have to pay them $ 80 a day correct? (Of course we are not considering, taxes, insurance, etc). If your server is down or if the data is corrupt and it takes 4 hours to recover it, your employee does not cost you $ 10 an hour. Your employee costs you $ 20 an hour because he / she only worked 4 hours out of 8. Multiply this by the number of employees you have and you'll have an idea of the damage.

Corrupt data or having your server down, affects your sales, production and if the recovery takes too long, you could potentially go out of business. According to business reports, 70% of small business that have major data loss go out of business within a year. Hardware cost has dropped dramatically and today, anyone can afford a decent backup solution. We will cover two solutions in this article and we will help you see which one is best for your business. The first is simply a local to online cloud backup solution. The second is a backup disaster recovery solution with online cloud backup.

If your business has no critical applications and if your business will not be affected if your server is down, you can consider a local to online cloud backup solution. A typical business with no critical application is one that only has a file server in place. One may argue that even if a file server is down for a couple of hours, it could affect the business, we agree with you. But let's say that this is a simple file server, with no active directory, no access right, no critical applications and being down for a couple of hours is acceptable. For such a business a local to online cloud backup should suffice. Post why? A local to online cloud backup will do the following:

  1. Backup your raw data on an external hardware (local but outside of the server)
  2. Push another copy of the raw data to the online cloud backup.

So if the server crashes, the data is corrupt or lost, you can quickly recover it from your local hardware. If something were to happen to your entire office, such as fire, water damage, or any direct or indirect disaster, you can recover your data from the online cloud backup, from anywhere. And having this data accessible to you from anywhere at any time, could potentially save your business. Consider the following when researching for an online backup solution:

  • Good security that meets your company requirements and compliance, such as encryption, PCI, SAS 70, or HIPAA etc.
  • Make sure the company you select has a couple of data centers all around the country, so if one is down, you can still access your data from the others.
  • Make sure the upload speed is fast. If your data takes too long to upload, you could be waiting for weeks before the first backup is done.
  • Make sure there is no file size limitation. If one of your files is too big, it could fail to upload.

If your business today has critical applications and your servers can not be down, consider a Backup Disaster Recovery solution. One of the biggest challenges companies face is how to maximize business continuity and avoid business disruption following a server failure or data loss.

Some BDR (Backup Disaster Recovery) solutions provide fast and reliable data backup, protection, disaster recovery, and system migration to get servers online or data recovered as quickly as possible following a disaster. How does that work? A BDR solution will take an image of your entire server and store it on an external hardware. Another copy of the image will be pushed to the online cloud backup.

So what is the difference between this solution and the first one we described before?

If the server goes down due to physical or software reasons (or disaster), you can use the backup file, and mount it as a virtual machine. That means you will not have to reinstall the operating system, your applications, configure the applications and the server etc. This can potentially save your days of work, and thousands of dollars. We mean it, days of work and thousand of dollars. On top of that, if your entire site goes down, depending on the online cloud backup vendor, they can mount your server virtually on their servers in the cloud and provide you with a VPN access. So if your environment goes down, you now have your exact server, from the last backup set, running in the cloud. No need to have extra hardware, or software for this. These solutions are becoming more common. We call them hybrid BDR solutions because they do not force a client to purchase local hardware and lock them on a big initial setup fee. You only pay for the online virtual server mount if your entire site goes down. No extra hardware monthly fee or extra cost, making these solutions absolutely affordable. SMBs and MMBs can now have the same type of backup solutions enterprise businesses use.

Consider the following when researching for a BDR solution.

  • The BDR's backup file should be your entire server image.
  • The BDR solution should seamlessly takes incremental backup as often as every 15 minutes if needed.
  • The incremental backups should be fast, automatic, and continuously occurring in the background.
  • The solution should have the ability to restore the backup into a virtual environment such as Oracle Virtual box, VMware, Microsoft HyperV Or. (The entire system will be restored into a virtual machine).
  • The BDR solution should allow file and folder recovery.
  • It should allow bare metal recovery. In case you want to recover the server on a dissimilar hardware.
  • The online backup should have the ability to upload the local images files securely to the cloud.

So overall, when considering a backup solution you'll need to understand your company needs, requirements and what the company can tolerate in case of an outage. With this information, you should be able to either select a local to online cloud backup or BDR solution. Both of these solutions are very inexpensive and every business should take advantage of them. You can purchase a monthly license for the BDR solution and pay as little as 50 cents per gig for cloud space. Do not risk losing your business data for few dollars a month.

Outdoor TV Options Compared

[ad_1]

When planning for an Outdoor TV or Digital Signage display you have 3 choices to compare, standard TV, Weatherproof TV, Outdoor TV Enclosure. I will attempt to give you a brief overview of the options. The best advice is to do your research to be sure you understand the options and to make the proper choice for your application.

As Americans continue their migration to warm weather states industries associated with outdoor living have seen a significant growth in business as well. Companies that supply outdoor kitchens, outdoor furniture, outdoor entertainment and landscaping have experience a steadily growing market during the past decade. We relocate to more tempered climates to enjoy the outdoors for longer stretches of time. Even in the colder northern states we see growth in outdoor living. Since my expertise is in Audio Video Integration I will focus this writing on a growing segment of the market, outdoor TV.

Over my 20 year career in Home and Commercial entertainment products outdoor TV screens went from a small majority of wealthy clients to basically a standard feature in every home. The desire to extend living space outdoors, watch the game while barbecuing some burgers or maybe watch a night time movie while relaxing on your patio has been a driving force in the expansion of outdoor living products.

Going back to my early experience with outdoor TV the only choice we had was to select an inexpensive TV, do our best to protect it from the elements and hope for the best as far as durability and longevity. A few TV mounting manufacturers introduced protective outdoor enclosures but the pricing was very high and again only for the wealthy. When you combined the high price of Plasma or LCD TV's at the time with the high price of the TV enclosure the cost became prohibitive for all but a few clients.

When placing a standard TV the expected lifespan of the TV was greatly reduced due to moisture and particle infiltration in to the electronics and possible damage to the TV from airborne debris. Some clients had great luck and their TV's lasted for a few years. Many were not so lucky. That is one reason the market was restrained to the more wealthy clients who could afford to replace their outdoor TV when necessary. Of course TV manufacturers would void any warranty on an indoor TV used in outdoor conditions. This is still the case today.

You have three options for outdoor TV and Commercial Digital Signage applications.

1) As discussed above, purchase an inexpensive indoor TV and hope for the best.

2) Purchase a value added third party weatherized outdoor TV.

3) Purchase an outdoor TV enclosure.

There are pros and cons with each solution. I would suggest that you do your research to select the best solution for your application.

Option # 1, Standard TV placed outdoors ;

The main change from what we have already discussed with option # 1 is the huge reduction in the price of flat panel TV's. Anyone who purchased one 10 years ago and has gone shopping for a new TV has experienced this first hand. Beyond that the same potential issues still exist. If you choose this option be prepared for the possibility that your TV may just go "poof" one day never to shine again. Ironically this of course will occur in the middle of the game or during the climactic scene of the movie neither of which is a fun experience. I can not tell you how many times we would get calls from clients whose TV's decided to stop working at the worst possible times.

Option # 1 Summary; for those with a limited budget and that have a bit of a gambler in them this is the right solution. Just keep in mind that the clock is ticking from the first day you mount your TV outside. I would recommend buying a new TV for your family room and moving the old TV outdoors. It will hurt much less when it decides to go "poof" on you.

Option # 2 Weatherproof TV;

As the market for outdoor living continued its growth a few companies introduced the Weatherproof TV. The weatherproof TV offers an attractive self contained package that fits nicely into most designs. Most of the weatherproof TV models offered were from "value added manufactures". These are manufacturing companies that take an already existing product and customize it for more specialized applications.

The process;

1) utilize a standard indoor TV

2) disassemble it

3) weatherize the components

4) reassemble it under their brand name.

One outdoor TV manufacturer lists; LG, Hitachi, Vizio, JVC, and Hisense as "model donors" for their TV's.

The weatherproof TV offers a solution to the protection from rain or water infiltration but offers little or no protection against vandalism or airborne debris striking the screen. A review of their websites shows no mention of the protection capabilities of the

The weatherproof TV also comes at a premium price. The price could be 5 times or more of the price of a standard TV. This is still the case today. While these TV's offer protection against the weather they.

Here is an example from the Best Buy website on 9-10-2014.

Outdoor TV – SunBrite TV Signature Series – 55 "Class – LED – 1080p – 60Hz – HDTV $ 4,100.00.

Standard TV – VIZIO E-Series – 55 "Class – LED – 1080p – 120Hz – Smart – HDTV $ 680.00.

Option # 2 Summary; when design aesthetics are the most important element of your project, price / budget is not a concern and protection from vandals or debris is not an issue then the weatherproof TV is the right choice.

Option # 3; Outdoor TV Enclosure;

In recent years a popular alternative has emerged, the outdoor TV enclosure or outdoor TV cabinet. The benefit of the outdoor TV cabinet it that you can place any flat screen TV outdoors and have it protected from the elements and potential vandalism. The pricing on these units range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the size, quality and level of protection offered.

Let's take our 55 "TV from above at $ 680.00. The price for a weatherproof, vandal resistant outdoor TV cabinet will range from $ 1000 to $ 2000. Add that to the price of the TV and you're still well below the cost of the weatherproof TV . When we look at commercial applications for restaurants, sporting facilities, digital advertising where multiple displays are required the potential savings could be substantial.

The two main construction materials used for the enclosure / cabinet are;

1) Polyethylene, is the most common plastic. Polyethylene is a thermoplastic polymer consisting of long hydrocarbon chains. a durable plastic with good outdoor use properties.

2) Powder Coated Steel, Powder coated products are more resistant to diminished coating quality as a result of impact, moisture, chemicals, utraviolet light, and other extreme weather conditions. In turn, this reduces the risk of scratches, chipping, abrasions, corrosion, fading, and other wear issues.

The proper research to address your specific requirements is required you ensure you make the correct choice.

Outdoor Plastic Cabinet

Pros; plastic is waterproof, durable, large operating temperature and light weight.

Cons; the material can not support heavy loads and has then tendency to flex or bend in larger sizes. This limits its effectiveness to smaller size TV's.

Steel Cabinet

Pros; waterproof, strong rigid material, large operating temperature, durable when powder coated, can be manufactured to accommodate large TV's.

Cons; steel cabinets are heavier than the plastic enclosures.

Polycarbonate

Pros; strong material, used in bullet proof glass applications.

Cons; lower light transmission then glass, tendency to scratch which can not be repaired, will yellow over prolonged exposure to sunlight, high reflection and glare from the material.

Optically Bonded Tempered Glass

Cons; heavier then polycarbonate, will shatter with severe impact

Pros; high visibility, high light transmission, hard to scratch, can repair scratches, low reflection.

Option # 3 Summary, when a balance between performance and appearance is required there is no better choice than an Outdoor TV Enclosure.

Meticulously crafted to keep out the dust, damp, cold and rain, many different versions of a Ranch Coat were styled to suit the needs of the men who wore them. To wear them today is to buy from a company that specializes in historical Old West wear.

These coats depict the major historical periods for styles in the Old West. Western wear included influences from the Regency, Victorian and Edwardian periods. These basic styles for men were quite similar even though the fabrics varied widely. They used European versions as inspiration throughout the time America was growing. In the Southwest, Vaquero clothing worn by Mexican ranchers inspired cowhands to do the same.

A duster was a common garment worn for basic ranching duties. This essential item was often made of heavy canvas for extra warmth or heavy cotton for durability with cooler wear. The style had long sleeves and a large collar to protect arms and face from the wind and rain. The back pleat opened up when on horseback to help riding be more comfortable. This was a standard everyday wear item for many ranchers.

A frock style made of wool was designed for day or evening wear. Made to reach just beyond the knees, it helped to keep a gentleman warm while dressed up in colder weather. But, it was also suitable for a day of business. Many cowboys would wear this tailored style with its bright silver buttons when turning up for social events at the end of a long work week.

One of the most common men's silhouettes was the Callahan frock. It was regularly worn during ranch duties as it was in town for gambling. It had lapels that were notched and extra decorative stitching on the back flap. This classic bit of ranching wear was worn with a nice shirt, well-tailored vest, pants, a soft hat and a sporty bow tie. The richest of ranchers enjoyed this look and wore it pretty much everywhere.

For those who preferred to carry rifles, classic rifle coats were the perfect thing. These long garments concealed their weapon of choice and completely covered their basic clothes. This was a very popular item that distinguished lawmen and the bad guys they were after. Many sheriffs were known to wear this type of cold weather wear, often year round as the fabric used was not often heavy wool.

With a full set of dress clothes worn underneath, the Coburn Great Coat was the perfect over garment. This wool coat was measured to fall below the knees. It featured a cowl attached at the neck which served as a cold weather cape. Made for keeping warm, these items kept many men warmer throughout the Old West times.
